Timberland has extensive experience with power line patrol, including visual inspection, corona and IR inspections. Since 1994 Timberland has maintained a contract with Pacific Power to provide helicopter power-line patrol and CWN services for 95% of Pacific Power lines in the Northwest. Timberland Helicopters also has an exclusive contract with Rocky Mountain Power encompassing a 5 state radius in the Rocky’s. Our pilots strive to become part of the team not just a “driver”. We deliver materials, tools, generators and also assist with setting poles/crossarms, pulling line and responding to outages.
Services
Timberland has the ability to provide full fire support including water bucket operations, firefighter transport, air attack, and aerial ignition, including helitorch and PSD. We are one of only a select few operators who provide a turn-key helitorch module. This includes a batch truck capable of up to 2000 gallons of gel at a time, an array of torches including Simplex and Isolair, and the well trained and qualified crew to operate them. We are on call year round to provide support for the Oregon Department of Forestry, United States Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Cal-Fire. We are proud to serve our community by protecting National Forests as well as private and public lands.

Transporting external loads is our specialty. From setting power poles to installing air conditioners, our team has extensive experience performing long-line transport in all kinds of terrain. We have assisted clients with delivering Christmas trees, placing mountaintop repeaters, setting up weather antennae and delivering generators to remote construction projects. We also maintain strong working relationships with various heavy-lift operators to accommodate even the largest of loads.

Timberland is a trusted aerial seeding and fertilization contractor for the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife, United States Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management. We have the ability to distribute native grasses for reseeding after forest fires, logging or structure removal. For example, large scale BLM projects in eastern Oregon as resultant fire restoration and Bureau of Reclamation reseeding after the removal of the Gold Ray Dam, making way for a pivotal habitat restoration project and fire mitigation.

Timberland maintains strong working relationships with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife, United States Forest Service, United States Fish and Wildlife Service, and California Department of Fish & Wildlife assisting with wildlife surveying. We utilize infrared technology as well as visual spotters to observe elk, deer, waterfowl, grouse, bighorn sheep, antelope, and salmon. Our clients have found aerial observation to be more efficient for large/remote areas, more cost-effective and less invasive to wildlife.

Timberland Helicopters played a crucial role in assisting the recovery team in safely transporting the capsule to the NASA clean room.

The Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, and Security – Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) was the first U.S. spacecraft to collect a sample from an asteroid and deliver it to Earth on Sept. 24, 2023.

Timberland can fly a pattern over any project taking high resolution videos that can be turned into 3D point clouds. Does your company have a need for point cloud mapping? Because with our in house analysis we can do all the work for you. This technology is extremely beneficial in industrial inspection and Geo-referencing but can be used in a wide variety of applications. Timberland’s infrared thermal imaging inspections enable our clients to see into places where the naked eye can’t. Quickly monitor and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and electrical connections with accuracy and efficiency. Scan pumps, process valves, storage tanks, and motors to ensure function and profitability. Ensure proper installation of electrical wiring and equipment to prevent injury, costly outages, and irreversible damage. Proactive inspections prevent sudden outages and loss of valuable equipment. Missing persons or animals can also be found easily regardless of day or night searching.
UAV Division
Timberland empowers customers to accurately pinpoint sources of corona, partial discharge, and micro-arcing, that lead to audio noise, radio / TV interference, and electrical mechanical failures. Detection of flashover before it happens can now be done by identifying and locating corona discharge or arcing in broad daylight and in all weather conditions. UAV mounted corona cameras enable continuous work without arm or eye strain. Ability to inspect during the day allows for a higher degree of safety while reducing night-shift costs.

Identifying module faults, string and system faults, or simply the racking and balancing of a solar field can all be done with Timberland UAV services.
