Mark Gibson | President

Mark first learned the meaning of “hard work” growing up on a cattle ranch near Ashland, OR. Mark quickly developed a passion for logging and trucking, and his natural propensity for transportation and mechanics led him to form Siskiyou Transportation, Inc. and eventually Timberland Helicopters, Inc. Mark has been the General Manager and Director of Safety at Timberland since 1994, and has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Helicopter Association International (HAI) for two separate terms.


Paul Kirschel | Director of Operations

Paul has lived in Southern Oregon since 2005. Paul started his career in 1997 as a Certified Flight Instructor in Sacramento. He then transferred to TEMSCO Helicopters in Juneau, flying year-round throughout Southeast Alaska.  Seeking a position which would allow his family to live in the Pacific Northwest, Paul became a pilot for Timberland, advancing from the position of Check Airman to Director of Operations.


Ben Schumacher | Chief Pilot

Ben Schumacher has been flying as a commercial pilot since 2001 with US and Australian ratings. He has accumulated around 7000 hours of helicopter flight time, mostly in utilities such as: game survey, power line and pipeline patrol and maintenance, firefighting and prescribed burning, precision long line, aerial cinematography and 135 charters. He has been with Timberland since 2007 and is now the Chief Pilot.


Chris Stehlin | Director of Maintenance

Chris has been the Director of Maintenance at Timberland for 2 years albeit 17 years in the industry. He has extensive knowledge in maintaining helicopters, especially the Bell 206 and AS350 Series. Chris attained his Airframe and Powerplant rating in 2007 with an Inspection Authorization. He has attended Bell and MD Factory Approved Field Maintenance courses. Our aircraft are maintained by the best in the business with an impeccable safety record.


Charlie | Lead Utility Pilot

Charlie is your go to guy. Whether you need line patrol, precision long line skills, areal ignition, confined area transportation or firefighting. He has worked for many companies for many years in the industry, all over the world and finally found his home at Timberland Helicopters.
